How can three years fly by so quickly? This short post is just to say hi and brag that my little article about Egypt’s Giza and Saqqara made the cover of TIME’s World’s Greatest Places issue.

These past three years have been a whirlwind. When the world first began taking the pandemic seriously, I was writing daily covid travel updates for Fodor’s. After a while, it was just two per week but then I was also writing about covid and travel for publications like National Geographic and Insider, in addition to more traditional travel articles (plus juggling my part-time management consulting job).

I kept thinking that I’d soon have time to finally update this TravelEater.net site … and maybe even take a much-needed break too. But despite three years and only minimal travels (I’m still trying hard to avoid getting covid and, worse, long covid), I always seem to find myself too busy.

Let’s hope the future is brighter. And if you’re looking for whatever I’ve written lately, apologies for making it not too easy to find. I do update the publications page with every new article, but they’re grouped by publication. And the destination pages on this site are woefully out of date. My Contently page does list my latest articles more or less chronologically though. And we’ll see what’s yet to come.
