I’m Johanna Read, a Canadian travel and food writer/photographer (and former Government of Canada executive), based in Vancouver.
I’m also the Contributing Editor of Luxury And Boutique Hotels and in 2017 became S.E.E. Africa‘s Responsible Tourism Columnist. I write freelance for a variety of print and digital publications in Canada, the U.S., and internationally. They include National Geographic, USA Today, Fodor’s, Reader’s Digest, Lonely Planet, Men’s Journal, Candian Traveller, and in-flight magazines (all my publications).
I’m always searching for the best things to eat around the world (and what to do between snacks). I’ve been to 60+ countries (and counting), and the past few years of my travelling life have brought me multiple times to six continents (you’re right … not yet to Antarctica).

I just read your article at National Graphic. You stated that Cambodia has opened up to U.S. citizens for travel. I just called the Cambodian embassy in Washington, DC. They have not opened. Why are you putting out this incorrect information?

It was correct at the time of writing. COVID rules are changing daily. You were smart to check with the embassy, Tim.
