A sustainable trip to Kauai, Hawaii

When you go to a pristine paradise like Hawaii, it is easy to see how our travel decisions can make a place better or worse.

I like to find simple and not too hard ways to make travelling better for the places we visit. Often it is just knowing how decisions affect the people and the environment, and then the decisions are easy. They’re often not even a sacrifice.

After my week in Kauai, I wrote a piece on how to spend a sustainable weekend there for The Wayward Post: A wayward weekend on the Garden Isle, Kauai.

You’ll find lots of fun things to do and see and I’d bet you’d want to do all of them even if you didn’t know they were the sustainable tourism choice.

Want to know more about responsible tourism? I’ve got lots of articles on my Responsible Tourism page. And for more on Hawaii, check out the Hawaii page, of course!
