As much as I love adventure, I also love to relax.
I’m just back from a week in the mountains in Whistler, in British Columbia. It was chock full of adventure — whitewater rafting; ziplining; RZRing (a kind of all-terrain vehicle); scootering; hiking; snapping pics of animals like bear, marmot and the wild summer snowboarder; gondola and chairlift riding; and even walking on a glacier in my sandals (slippery!). More on all this to come, and many thanks to Whistler Tourism, The Adventure Group, Pan Pacific Whistler and Summit Lodge for hosting my stay!
Luckily there was a little bit of relaxing too, including at the Scandinave Spa. All this adventuring and the small amount of relaxing has me thinking about spas.
So, published by Nanuism, here’s my photo essay of some of my favourite spa hotels around the world and some things to consider when planning your next spa hotel stay — Spa seeking: Spa hotels around the world. It features Morocco, Laos, Peru, Tunisia, Ecuador, and Indonesia, in addition to the Scandinave Spa in Whistler.
Hammams are some of my favourite spas. Want to know more about what to expect in a hammam?
And what about you … do you have a favourite spa hotel?

I was hosted by the hotels mentioned in the article in exchange for writing a feature about them on LuxuryAndBoutiqueHotels.com. Tourism Whistler and the Scandinave Spa hosted my Whistler spa experience. I mention them in this article simply because I like them. I never allow the hotel or provider to review or approve the text of my articles.
