Magnificent Marrakech

image

Colours are everywhere in Marrakech, whether they be the bright bracelets, fezes, and scarves in the souk; the vivid fresh-squeezed orange and grapefruit juices on offer; the patterned kaftans and hooded djellabas worn by both men and women; or the fading walls and doors in the old medina.

Marrakech is called the Red City, because all buildings must be the red-ochre colour of the earth.  But in the medina other colours creep through.

I’ve been here a week so far.  Many stories and more photos to come.
